Wanner offers a Hydra-Cell Pro seal-less pump range that is independently assessed and certified by major approval bodies to ATEX (Directive 2014/34/EU and the UK equivalent regulation No. 1107). We have European and UK registration, and mark for CE UKCA and to ATEX UKEXs.
Hydra-Cell® Pro pumps offer best-in-class performance and safety, with reliable handling of challenging liquids, and lower total cost of ownership.
Steady-state flow rate control, handling high inlet and discharge pressures with extremely low pulse often eliminates the need for costly pulsation dampeners.
Reliably handle hazardous chemicals, 100% isolated from the pumping chamber and completely sealed from the atmosphere, eliminating leaks, VOCs emissions and environmental risks.
Multiple diaphragms in a single pump head, pumping chambers with constant optimised compression ratios delivers metering performance exceeding API675 over a wide flow range.
Unique check value design along with fluid paths to minimise velocity gradients contributes to proven low shear.
Patented ADPC (Advanced Diaphragm Position Control) and hydraulic oil management systems protect diaphragms under closed or restricted inlet conditions – pump can run dry indefinitely without damage.
Seal-less packing free design plus unique valve sets reliably pumps liquids with suspended solids. From micron size, which cause the most damage, up to 800 micron. Even thick slurries.
Accurately and reliably pump liquid viscosities ranging from non-lubricating liquified gases and solvents to viscous liquids and slurries up to 20,000 cP.
Achieve high efficiencies from pump shaft to hydraulic power. Combined with the wide range of flow rate controllability, this ensures optimum energy usage.
Simple change of liquid head materials of construction allows Hydra-Cell Pro pumps to be used with resins, acids, caustics, polymers, solvents, ammonia, freons, propane, butanes, deionised water, and more.
Hydra-Cell Pro pumps are used across a wide range of chemical and petrochemical processing requirements
With multiple diaphragms in a single pump head, Hydra-Cell Pro metering pumps deliver an extremely low puIse discharge flow in a compact design, eliminating the need for pulsation dampeners in many applications. This reduces installation costs and waste of expensive chemicals during servicing, maintenance or batch processing changeover.

MT8 Metering pump
High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)
Pump specification and performance are critical factors in this process for an OEM, who manufactures HPLC skids for pharmaceutical companies. Essential features include high-pressure pumping capability, precise smooth flow, no pulsation dampers and a very wide controllable flow rate range.
Low pressure liquid chromatography (LPLC)
This customer manufactures systems for liquid separation using column chromatography techniques. 19 x Hydra-Cell Pro pumps are installed within LPLC systems for a major pharmaceuticals company for separating various solvent acids and aqueous solutions for commercial scale production.
Dosing of slurries to continuous flow reactors
A leading specialty chemicals manufacturer has Hydra-Cell Pro process pumps installed to dose slurries and various chemicals with solid concentration ranging from (10- 30%) at a flow rate of 4ml/min to 500ml/min. Hydra-Cell Pro pumps have helped the user achieve higher productivity.
High grade phosphoric acid manufacture
Hydra-Cell Pro process pumps handle hot corrosive liquids for a major manufacturing plant that produces phosphoric acid; the high grade material is used widely in many different food processes, as well as within the production of phosphate salts, in electrochemical polishing, detergent manufacture, ceramics, plastics and even in fire retardants.
Spray drying aqueous emulsions
Replacing a traditional high-pressure triplex metering pump, which was costing 5-figures per year to maintain, a Hydra-Cell Pro G15 pump has now been installed on this aqueous emulsions spray drying application for more than 2 years. After a 3-month trial, the pump showed no sign of wear. Over the next 2 years service, no repairs were needed and only routine annual precautionary replacement of some parts have been made.
Reverse osmosis for cosmetics manufacturer
A cosmetic manufacturer is enjoying high-level controllability and energy efficient benefits after the installation of a Hydra-Cell Pro RO pump in its manufacturing plant. An important constituent of the product is algae – which has to be separated from the original solution by means of reverse osmosis. The seal-less design of the pump allows the liquid containing the algae particles to be pumped reliably, while the low shearing pumping action of the design ensures that the structure of the essential ingredient is not destroyed.
Viscous liquid transfer with lower power consumption
A leading paint manufacturer installed a system for a variety of process liquids to be transferred that varied in viscosity from 0.4 mPa to 1000 mPa. Some liquids contained solid particles, and accurate chemical proportions were critical to the process. Compared to the previously installed triplex metering pump and a single headed diaphragm pump, Hydra-Cell Pro successfully handled the abrasive solids, had a lower power consumption, lowering the total cost of ownership. And with its extremely low pulsefree flow delivering precision metering exceeding API 675, the Hydra-Cell Pro pump needed no pulsation dampeners.
CIP cleaning
Some of the liquids handled in these pipeline systems at a major refinery have high H2S content and also contain particles. The pipes are cleaned with hot water at 175-185°F / 80-85°C to minimise the corrosion of the pipework. To pump these liquids reliably at pressure, the refinery chose Hydra-Cell pumps rather than plunger pumps.
Methanol pressure injection & mixing
A leading manufacturer of industrial chemicals and pesticides uses methanol as a solvent for this particular manufacturing process; the hazardous methanol is injected at high pressure to complete the required reaction. Hydra-Cell Pro replaced the previously installed plunger pump ensuring zero leakage and control of the flow rate irrespective of the discharge pressure.
Polypropylene and propane distillation
A multinational oil and gas company uses two distillation processing towers to separate Polypropylene and Propane. As the distillation points of the substances are close together, maintaining an accurate temperature in each tower is critical. If too much liquid is dosed the temperature drops, if too little the temperature increases. Therefore, the mixture needs to be dosed very accurately into the two towers. The Hydra-Cell Pro pump successfully delivers a virtually pulse-less flow without the need for pulsation dampeners, with accurate flow rate control over a number of different flow rate requirements.
Emissions control
Reliably handling the abrasive, corrosive and non-lubricating nature of urea and demineralized water in a fertilizer and chemical production facility. By installing Hydra-Cell Pro pumps, acquisition, installation and maintenance costs have been greatly reduced.
Metering concentrated brine solution
A Canadian chemical company is using Hydra-Cell Pro pumps to meter concentrated brine solution in a proprietary process. The brine solution is chemically aggressive – too corrosive for common grades of stainless steel, while pumping pressure and temperature are too high to allow use of plastic-headed pumps. Hastelloy® metallurgy is therefore used throughout the system.
Seal-less design and a wide range of material options enable Hydra-Cell Pro pumps to work reliably and durably – easily matching the long duty cycles required on this process. The quiet operation of the pump is also greatly appreciated here as the installation is in a lab environment.
